This was my third Elevation concert and I was amazed that this tour continued to surprise me. The relevance of "Please" was a shock to me. Hearing it live for the first time put the lyrics in a new light, and now they seem haunting to me: "September, streets capsizing...shards of glass splinters like rain...October...remember...." I was so happy for that guy who got to play "Knocking on Heaven's Door," who obviously had both faith and skill. For me the most poignant moment was when Bono hugged the American flag. It was as if he was trying to comfort our entire nation. I don't know how they do it, but U2 managed to both console us and rock us. I still think that the second Washington DC show was better (there was just something in the air and everything clicked), but Baltimore was a very close second. I will wait patiently for their next album and tour....
