The last stop on this leg of the 360 tour wrapped up with resonating raw emotion in Vancouver on Wednesday night. Early in the show, Bono made mention of the band's first roadie, the Edge's Mom, being present. She drove them to the their first gigs in her orange VW van. Instead of the mega rock star spectacular, we were transported back in space and time to those early days. The older tunes such as Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Streets have No Name put the fans into orbit. Songs from No Line on the Horizon were welcome breaks to get back down to the ground and absorb the new sounds. Bono was very humble in his gratitude to everyone present; ONE supporter and birthday boy Bill Gates (who was in the house), his mates on stage, fans and crew alike. When he thanked the crew, there was a moment of screeching feedback which could only be the result of a sound booth prank of acknowledgment. Sound the rest of the night was flawless. The isolated weak vocal moments did not matter, the fans were happy to help out and fill in the chorus to any song when asked. At the end of the night, Bono held up a sign from front row that said "Research Scientist working on the cure for AIDS". He said "Thank You" as they clutched the sign and each other for their final bow.
