Wasn't sure what to expect. Free tickets to a U2 show? Hard to believe and I doubted it until Bono walked out on stage.
He gave a great introduction speech and the key thing that stuck out for me was that this was not a charity night or a fundraiser, but a night of thanks.
Hozier calling out Bono and The Edge for a song was surprising, especially siince you knew they would be performing last. When Love Comes To Town was a big surprise too. Sounded unbelieveable.
Jessie J, who I never really listened to, sang a cover of Purple Rain.
Miley Cyrus was as expected.
Every Breaking Wave was first. Standard Edge on piano, Bono standing and singing. The orchestra though added som much to this and every other song. Very powerful renditions of each song with them as a backup vice the other two members of U2.
Didn't really know what to expect for song selections or how many. I knew EBW and One were definites. Angel of Harlem, Still Haven't Found and SYCMIOYO were all amazing and I felt extremely priveleged to be there.
The other artisits coming out for One was nice, except Miley didn't know the words. That was the only low point to an otherwise wonderful evening.
