The Salt Lake show was incredible! This was my second U2 show (I saw them at the Delta Center for the Elevation Tour), and this experience was so much cooler than the last. My aunt and I were lucky enough to be on the floor, right on the rail just off to the right of the center, and I must say it is a completely different experience on the floor than it was up at the top or probably even in the first few rows. We were both in awe at how close we were to the band- the stage was awesome, and the band was amazing! They seemed very relaxed, and looked like they were having a great time. Bono was pretty funny tooI was glad to hear his remarks on how Salt Lake supported them even in their most awkward phaseswish I could have seen Popmart at the Rice-Eccles Stadium!
I got to the Delta Center around 5:30 in the morning, and was number 87 in the unofficial line- it was kind of chilly, but it was fun meeting all the fellow fans, and you cant really complain when youre going to see U2! I was very glad to finally get inside the doors around 6:00 pm that night, and even though we did not get into that big hole in the middle of the floor (as Delta Center staff more colorfully dubbed it), the outside rail was equally good, if not better than the inside of the ellipse. City of Blinding Lights was a great opener and probably one of my favorites, alongside Elevation, Norwegian Wood, One and Until the End of the World. Streets was also great and my aunt, who was a U2 concert virgin, loved All Because of You! Adam was hilarious just to have stand in front of us, and I loved when Bono chased Edge around the ellipse during UTEOTW!
My aunt got some pretty nice pics of them, all except for Larry- we ran out of film during the war song set in the middle, and couldnt get the other roll of film until the encore. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic show, and I cant wait until the next tour!
