As always,THE PRIVILEGE AND THRILL OF A LIFETIME TO SEE THIS BAND IN CONCERT!!
Despite the strong winds and dark skies, the rain never came. But the energy of the stadium could create lightning. First, Longpigs and FLC opened. Enough said.
Pop Muzik kicks in about 9:45 and you know it's time. From their entrance to the close of the show with ONE, the boys just keep on giving. Bono has relentless energy. The songs (in comparison to reports and real audio from other shows) have improved and are awesome. GONE absolutely rocks. Bono incorporates STAND BY ME at the end of ISHFWILF and lets the crowd finish it (almost pulled it off). During IGWSHA, which along with SATS is played by just Bono and The Edge, Bono sang.... "Will Jeff Buckley be all right..." in reference to the missing singer. The new 'anthem' PLEASE is very powerful and emotional. And there is no better concert experience (INCLUDING SBS) than WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME!! UNBELIEVABLE!
I just don't understand detractors of the show. The music still comes first. The screen can only be seen to be appreciated. Edge and Bono have such a great rapport. Bono even went up to The Edge and kissed him on the lips!! Actually a very cool moment. Bottom line, the show is just SO MUCH FUN. No other band in the world could deliver like U2. And don't forget they are not getting any younger so appreciate them now because you may regret not seeing them. I'll be in Foxboro, July 2 3rd row floor. You wait so long to see them and then in 2 hours it's gone............
