Wow....what a night what a show!! I will say I did not think anything could live up to the post 911 shows of the Elevation Tour. But last night was close. The stage is sweet, I loved the lighting effects on the stage and the sound was the best i have heard yet!! From any band!! It was sooo cool hearing songs that have not been played for over 10 years be rejuvenated with the technology of todays PA systems. Just crushing!!
I had very high expectations and they lived up to them!! Way to go boys!!!
We had 6th row terrace seats completely behind the stage and were completly happy with them. Though I would not go much higher than the lower third of any upper deck if you are behind the stage. The higher seats definetly were getting blocked out by the low level trelace above the stage.
Some observations. Bono spent much less time on the catwalk than the Elevation Tour. I think because he played much more guitar than he has in the past. So the outer ring of the GA floor seats might not be as good as the were for the Elevation Tour. But if you are in the circle you are golden! **But this could change as the boys become more comfortable and venture out more.
Seats behind the stage in the lower levels are well worth the reduced price you pay. As again the band is spending much more time on the main stage.
I saw them for opening night in Vegas for the Pop Tour. That night they were very rusty, making a few very noticable mistakes. Last night the only way I could tell it was opening night was maybe the band was a little extra carefull and paying very close attention to each other. Adam hung very close to Larry throughout the night and you could see a LOT of non verbal comunication with the boys. Just always making sure they were on the same page. I guess that is a Veteran band for you.
I expect as the tour continues it will become second nature for them and they will loosin up a little.
Overall a 8.5 out of 10 "U2 standards" with much potential for this tour to blow up into a full 10 along the way.
Well I am seeing them 7 times over the next 2 weeks. It's going to be sick!!!
Boys Play Rock and Roll! and last night boy they did!!!
