For years I have been looking to see if I was dreaming. I have told the story a hundred times in my efforts to convince people that a HUGE Jumbo Jet roared over the stadium at like 100 ft over the crowd during Bullet the Blue sky. I come on this site and lo and behold there are others talking about this...
This concert was special for me for many reasons. I was a 16 YO kid who was just getting into a band and learning the Guitar. I have listened to U2 in the past and I was a big fan, but this concert set my life on a path that changed me. It was a religious experience. I have never seen such a powerful conviction from a band and one person (Bono) to lead 100,000 people into song, EVERY song. To motivate the crowd in such a way, was truely an exeperience to remember.
The other aspect that truely blew me away was the sound of the Edge's guitar. I could not believe how he filled the stadium with such emotion just by playing guitar. When he played you FELT his playing not just heard.... Amazing concert... It really changed my life....
