What an absolutely phenomenal show!!! From the first notes of "City of Blinding Lights" right through the final encore of "Vertigo," the band put on a stellar performance.
Songs that they played on the first night -- especially "One" and "Zoo Station" -- were more powerful on Monday, and of course it was thrilling to hear "Gloria" and "Bad." "Bad" was simply amazing; when Bono riffed a few lines from "Ruby Tuesday," the entire house took it up and was swept away. "Original of the Species" was a real treat, and the encore of "Vertigo" was out of this world.
And as another reviewer noted, the exchange between Bono and Jason, the 10-year-old fan who sang every word of "One," was incredibly moving.
I have to say that the experience on the floor was so much more engaging than my experience in the nose-bleed section the night before. Not only are the acoustics and visuals so much better, but it meant so much to be so close to the band and squeezed into a throng of die-hard fans.
What a show!
