I have been to 6 shows over the years, and my biggest memory of all the shows is the things that happen around the shows and the people/U2 fans that I have met. This show was the same. Had the opportunity to try and hang out in down town Seattle and see if I would be able to meet anyone from the band. Wanted to share a few things that happened before the U2 show up in Seattle April 25th. I got to meet Bono and The Edge. I was also very excited about being able to see them. The Edge came around first. I held my book out and he signed it. But right after he signed it, he looked up at some guy behind me and got really mad at him. The Edge said something like: He buddy, I signed something for you the other night in Denver. I am sick of all you Ebay'rs trying to make a buck off this. I am not signing anything more for you. -- Something to that effect. I was stunned. But then he went back to being really nice to everyone else. Then Bono came out. Paul the bodyguard was pointing where he should go. He also signed my book. The girl to the left of me asked Bono to sign her right arm and said that she was going to go right over to the tattoo shop and have it inked in. He signed it Bono with a heart for the first "O." While he was standing there signing her arm, I wanted to say something to him. So I figured better do it now or you will lose your chance. I asked him: Bono, will you play BAD tonight? He looked over at me and said, "I'm thinking about it, let's see how the pipes hold up." And I said, please do... The one conversation I had with Bono and I asked him to Play....Bad. I love the song and I figure it was a great question to get him thinking about it. During the concert when I heard the first few notes of BAD, I got goose bumps. They played it tonight. I would like to think it was because of me. At least that is what I am telling myself. Here is a slideshow of about 40 pictures from before the show and then at the show. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sbbennett/slideshow?.dir=/ddb5&.src=ph One more thing. Right after everyone left, Eddie Vedder came walking down the street with his backpack. He talked to security for a sec and then he went right in. I was able to snag one picture of him too. Seattle 2 was such a great show. Brian Bennett
