My mom and I flew from Houston, TX to NY(this was my graduation present, does it get any better??)
This was my second U2 show and by far exceeded Elevation which I didn't think was possible. I think Elevation was a little bit more magical, while Vertigo was in your face kick a** rock. Let me start by saying I made it a point to avoid the setlist so as not to spoil the surprise. Me and my mom were sitting behind the stage, great seats, and were very close to the stage.
First of all the Kings sucked, and it seemed like they played forever, they are not ready for arenas. City of Blinding Lights started and what a start, this song was AWESOME!!! Vertigo kicked ass, like no other U2 song, and Bono loves performing it and I love watching him. The old Boy stuff was great although it lost alot of the mainstream audience, but who cares about them. B-Day was a sing along, then came one of my fav. from the new album Miracle Drug, which I believe is the most underrated song of the tour.
When I heard Edge play the openning chords of Running I almost teared up, what an emotional performance. Streets was great but missed the red colors, One was good cool christmas tree moment.
I LOVED THE ENCORE!!! Zoo Station, The Fly, Mysterious- if u can't tell AB is my fav. album. I didn't know the Bowie song, but it rocked anyways. Original was a nice surprise, ABOY rocked, being my mom's fav. song., Yahweh-Beautiful, and Vertigo II left us all on a high note. PERFECT!!! There is nothing like seeing U2 in the Garden, the energy is soo high, and the band just feeds off it.
I think this is U2's best tour ever, the lights are awesome, the setlist superb with great mix of old/new/and rare, and the boys r in top form. See ya'll in Houston and Dallas.
