Concerts always fare better when the group and crowd are in total synch with one another. After only one show at MSG in the spring, the crowd was super-hyped, and the band fed off their energy all night long, providing yet another unforgettable experience for all who were there.
Saw Boston 1 and 2 back in May, and this was on a par with #2. I really wanted to see how Bono would handle the Pavarotti solo on Miss Sarajevo, and was amazed at how easily he was able to pull it off. Really was hoping to catch Crumbs and Fast Cars during one of my three shows this week, and got them both on the first night!!! Bono introduced "FC" with the line "most of you won't know this song." I'd say most in the ellipse did for certain, though many in my section actually sat for the only time during the show!
They have played Electric Co and The Ocean rather exclusively this leg, and I'd now like them to mix their "early years" portion of the show to include a few other staples and/or rarities.
Musically, the band was really tight, though you might say by this time it should be. It's amazing to watch the staff change their guitars around for nearly EVERY song seamlessy. I now cannot wait to see what the rest of the week brings....
