This is my 3rd time seeing U2 on the Vertigo tour. I liked tonight's show better than the May 2005 show here at MSG and also the August show in Munich, Germany. This show had more energy and the song choices were fantastic. I've always wanted to see U2 close a concert with "40", and of the 10 or so shows I've seen, this has never happened. It is truly a special song and a moving way to end the show with each band member leaving the stage separately, and the audience carrying on the song. Other highlights for me were "Wild Horses" and "All I Want is You", both of which I rarely see live. In fact, I rate this show as my 2nd favorite U2 show ever...just slightly behind the Boston show where they filmed the Elevation live DVD (we had floor seats for that Boston show and we're in the DVD!). A funny moment was when Bono borrowed a fan's cellphone to call Gavin Friday to wish Gavin happy birthday. Bono says to the fan, "Don't worry, I'm not going to call the White House, I'm just calling me mate..." and then he proceeds to lead the audience in "Happy Birthday" for the benefit of Gavin's voice mail service. There seemed to be a technical problem between Keane's excellent opening set and U2. It took 45 minutes for the switch, and U2 didn't start until 9:30 PM. Judging by the stagehands...it appeared that something was giving them problems. The sound quality was very good, which seems to be the usual for this tour.
