What a night and what a performance…. their energy level tonight was simply at their best. The setlist was spectacular. My 14th U2 concert overall in the past 18 years, 2nd in this tour (saw Chicago #1 back in May) but first one in NYC and that by itself made it amazing. Listening to “Electric Co.”, “Gloria” and “Party Girl” was a wonderful flashback to the music that captured me for the first time in 1982 and has been a part of me since. The “First Time” is simply one of their greatest underrated songs and hearing it live was spectacular. The “Love and Peace”, “Sunday Bloody Sunday” and “Bullet the Blue Sky” trio rocked and the Edge is on fire. Clearly his technique and riffs make him one of the greatest lead guitarists of all time. “City of Blinding Lights” sounded like it was specially written for this particular night in this wonderful city….. the city of “Coexist” as stated out by Bono on “Sunday Bloody Sunday”. The band was in one of their best performances ever. “Fast Cars” sounds great live and very different to any other U2 song out there which makes it sound very fresh. This band just keeps getting better as time goes by……………….. keep it up for many more years to come!!!
