I just wanted to be the first to say that tonight's Elevation show in Pittsburgh was absolutely breathtaking....
The Cleveland show the other night was fabulous, but there was something in the air tonight in Pittsburgh. Bono evoked the Beatles early in the show, pointing out that the original Fab Four had performed in the same building decades ago, and there definitely was a feeling that something special was happening. Aside from the fact that they played more songs than in Cleveland (Gone and Sweetest Thing), Bono and Edge performed Stay when I don't think they were planning to (you could tell they sort-of winged it). And, at the end of the show, Bono came back to the microphone as he was about to leave and thanked the audience for "an amazing night."
I hope that some good recordings come from this show, but I doubt it (the acoustics in the Mellon Arena are horrendous). Still, if anyone has ANY recordings of the show (good or otherwise), PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!!
