U2 in Pittsburgh was simply amazing! The band was definately feeling good and having a good time, playing for over two hours, with songs dedicated to Billie Holliday, Joey Ramone, and Michael Hutchence. Bono was at his humble rock icon best, playing well to the crowd with jokes ("Australians are like Irish who can't drink", "For the span of one lunch break, we were called the Larry Mullen Band") and by sprinting around the heart shaped runway so all sides of the crowd could get a good look. Several times, Bono stepped back from the microphone, with a smile, when he realized that the entire arena was singing along.
The entire show just felt good. U2 is definately at the top of their game, and have no competition for the title of Best Band in the World. Bono thanked the crowd several times for coming out and spending their hard earned money, and really enamored himself to the people by talking about all the great times they've had in Pittsburgh. U2 has also done a great job of pulling off an 'intimate' arena show, foregoing most of the extravagance of past tours. Simply amazing!
