I left Hull in Yorkshire with 2 mates, all of us aged 19, and caught the Friday train to Liverpool. Got the overnight ferry to Dublin, caught bus from Dublin to Cork tha am after finding out that pubs open Sat am !!
7 hour coach to Cork, boat over the lovely Lee, saw gig , back on bus and back in Dublin 5am , walked to ferry and got home in HULL 7pm on the Sunday !!
We were 10 feet from the front and Bono had lost it from the moment he was on. He was pumped up . C'mon everybody was good as far as I can remember as it is now 15 years on !
The fact they played Out of Control sent everyone mad, as you just knew you'd sen a classic gig. I was just nakkered and it was a great first trip to Eire, I'm now married to a Dub lass.
