What an incredible show! I wasn't sure what the energy level would be like this far into the tour, but the band was in top form, and the crowd followed suit.
After having seen the Vertigo opening overseas, I was excited to finally experience City of Blinding Lights as an opener- I love it! Miss Sarajevo was even more beautiful than I expected. Bono's voice literally fills up the entire arena. It is just breath-taking. Another highlight for me was Until the End of the World, one of my favorites. The last encore was just perfect. I love the stripped-down version of Stuck in a Moment. It was amazing to have the entire band out to play Yahweh right in front of where we were standing outside the ellipse. All Because of You (dedicated to Daniel Lanois) got the crowd pumped up again, and then 40 closed out the show.
My husband, Rob, and I were especially excited to see our friend from the GA line, John, pulled up on stage as one of the two boys holding the spotlight during 40. I can only imagine how excited John (and his parents, Virginia and Skip) were! Thanks to you guys for making the (COLD) GA line such a great experience. We also really, really enjoyed getting to hang out with the other folks around us- the Young Life guys from Montgomery, the Atlanta PT from Auburn, Bill and his friend. Thanks also to the guys who let me hijack their radio for the all-U2 radio station! The people around us inside were also great... part of what makes the day so much fun is all the cool U2 fans you meet! Jake R- I'm pretty sure I was standing right beside you and your dad on the rail... I'm anxious to see your pics!
