What the hell has happened to U2?

Ok, strike that - what the hell has happened to Bono? I know he thinks he's Jesus Christ reincarnated, but does he have to throw it in our faces every chance he gets?

This concert was EASILY the worst U2 concert I've seen, and that includes the sad 2005 Arizona Vertigo show. I've never seen the band as bored and lifeless as I did tonight. When Walk On ended, the band just kind of left the stage as the energy of the crowd fizzled out. Also, I didn't think "Where the Streets Have No Name" could get any worse than the Vertigo tour, but Bono topped himself tonight, especially in the "I go there with you" ending.

It's kind of unfair to blame the entire band - Bono is singlehandedly ruining U2 with his "bored as hell" vocal delivery. Thankfully, they didn't do BAD, and I was thankful. Can you imagine Bono SPEAKING "I'm wide awake, I'm not sleeping"?

Pathetic, and especially at the prices they charge. I read the tour is losing money; everyone who believes THAT stand on their head. U2 has turned gouging their fans into an art form (don't believe me? Try to buy a REMASTERED CD, like the new $35.99 Unforgettable Fire).

U2 has new fans, and judging by the reviews for other concerts, they feel this tour is great. It's understandable; after all, they never saw U2 when they gave a damn. Some of us fans saw them when they were hard-working and hungry - now, they reap in the money and preach to us from the stage. Do you think the idiot who spent $250 on a ticket wants to hear Bono rant his political bullshit? Don't you think it's about time Bono shut his mouth and opened his checkbook?

My God - compare "City of Blinding Lights" from Chicago to this tour. Bono should re-listen to the songs and remember how to sing them instead of speaking the lyrics off the beat of the song.

U2 are lucky - they can just show up and pretty much dial it in from now on. However, it's insulting to charge fans what they are and put on a lackluster "spaceship" show like they did tonight. Maybe the fact that No Line on the Horizon is selling so poorly will finally make the other three smack Bono in the back of the head once and for all. This concert tonight made "Pop Mart" look like Chicago 1987.

U2 are capable of so much more and have proven it in concerts of the past; sadly, those days may be gone forever. I'd like to buy some DVDs and remastered CDs of old U2 concerts to relieve the glory days, but I don't have my Black American Express Card handy at the moment....
