After a long night's drive we are now back in Chamonix from Milan-1
Great
-U2. Still magnificent. Still relevant, as everyone are arguing about these days.
-Got into the Inner circle, even if we arrived late (16.30) Stayed at the back of the circle and had really good view.
-Favorites: Larry's drum intro, All new songs, especially No Line, Magnificent, Unknown caller (with tifo) and most of all: Moment of surrender. Bono was completely in the sound, in the song.
-For the older ones: Ultraviolet = Fantastic. Really enjoyed the Stand by me snippet. Also funny to hear Bono´s MJ snippets. The Unforgettable Fire!! one of my absolute favorite U2 songs ever. Walk on is very welcome back in the set. The girls in the masks were behind me, did not see them...
Good
-360-theme. Stadium concerts experience will be much better for 95% of the people. Even though, I think a normal setup is better for GA if you have the best spots. But on the other hand, the average level of GA experience, I mean people not up front, must be much better this way.
-Italian crowd, even if they did not really live up to my very high expectations.
-Vertigo! Live is just so much better than on the album. I was not a big fan of last tour, but this one rocks.
Not so good.
-I agree with all of the politics that B-Man and the band stands for. But If i could choose I'd prefer it not to interfere with Street's. This was better than Vertigo tour, but still pretty lame comparing to older versions and Streets´experiences.
-Were we stood the sound was awful during Breathe an Half No line.
-Of course one will always miss certain songs, but If I have to chose one to add it would be Until the End Of The World. The show need some more rockers.
-The 360 concept gave me some kind of Broadway felling. That it was all so rehearsed, where the band members should be at certain points during songs, between songs etc. That is probably more of a criticism towards stadium shows that against U2. But still, it sometimes felt more like a rehearsed theatreshow than a rock n roll show.
Now we are looking forward to Nice. A smaller arena, and I'll probably more relaxed' after the 360 premiere is over.....
Walk On
