The Elevation 2001 show in Minneapolis last night was INCREDIBLE!! The band have never sounded better and Bono's voice was tons better than it has ever been in recent years. A lot of the songs sound "keyed down" but did hurt the performance in anyway. It was great to see the band introduced one-by-one and to see them take a bow.
One little, ahem, side note to the evening: I'm not 100% on this but during Mysterious Ways, Bono came down from the mainstage and then climbed up to the 1st level end-of-the-aisle rail. He was working the crowd into a frenzy when all of the sudden it looked like his own security detail yanked him down....but the man climbed back up again! Once Bono was finally down for good, he got back to the stage and apologized several times...."I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." The rumor from the local security staff was that someone had slapped Bono when he was working the 1st level crowd and took.....exception....to being slapped at. Can anyone else confirm???
GREAT SHOW. Those who still have yet to see U2, you are in for the treat of a lifetime!
