Another amazing night. My wife's GA ticket was the lucky winner as the computer screen flashed Vertigo 05 in Red and Black...we got into the ellipse! BTW- you don't have to wait in that god-awful long GA line unless you want to be right in the front of the stage...we walked in at 8 PM, in the ellipse at 8:15. We positioned ourselves at the tip of the ellipse where Bono enters...The night just took off from there!
Gloria/Ocean were nice changes from last show...Bono seemed to be in playful mood and was having fun. Lucky girl got on stage for Mysterious Ways AND WOWY ! I was concerned about the quick turnaround from MSG Sat to Phila on Sun..but it was a flawless musical night.
Dikemebe Mutumbo (NBA player) was there off stage in the lower section and Bono mentioned him during the intro to One and the campaign meeting he had here in Philadelphia. Also mentioned Live Aid again...
The Text Message from the cell phone failed and nobody's name appeared on the overhead screen after One was over.
Still love the Zoo Set and the Zoo slot machine! Takes you right back to the early '90s.
Crowd was much better than last Sat 5/14, and the people we met in the ellipse were very much into the show.
Only complaint is the number of people who take pictures with their cell phones.. but Bono took a picture of someone in the first row with their camera in the 2nd encore.
A great show in a great city.
