The boys played a great show in Philadelphia! Bono brings up Live Aid and Philly (JFK Stadium) being the US part of it and telling us about Dikembe Mutombo's project in Africa. Of course, Bono gets cheers and boos for bringing up Dikembe's name but says..."I know he doesn't play here anymore". Great line from Bono.
Hearing Gloria was awesome, I cannot remember the last time I heard that. Not sure if they played that during Joshua Tree Tour or not.
With or Without You was a welcome treat. I was on first row of the 2nd level and for 1/2 of the song, the feedback was horrible but I did not care because this is such a great song.
The first encore brought me back over 10 years ago with Auctung Baby material, the entire band played the Fly with such energy!
The crowd should be shot for stopping at end of Pride. Likewise, the crowd (at least some of them) were very weak during 40.
I wonder if some of the 'fans' actually have music from Boy, October or War?
40 is one of the simplest and best songs every produced by U2. They spend 10 minutes writing this song, 10 minutes recording, 10 minutes mixing it, and 10 minutes playing it back while getting kicked out of studio on the WAR LP and that has nothing to do with why it's called 40.
