I went to both shows, gold circle first night, in the heart / front row centre the second night...
I have never heard or seen a better U2 concert EVER!...A lot of people will complain about the length and about what songs were played at the second show. You can blame 2 people for this. First, because MuchMusic just HAD to have U2 RIGHT AFTER the show, U2 had to shorten their setlist. As for missing some songs, and playing a lot of songs out of order (there shouldn't be but there has been an order this tour), I think you can blame the Toronto Star with their stupid review saying "U2 need to tighten up their setlist" and the fact that they "played better songs at the end to make up for the beginning"...well...U2 showed them...playing MW at the beginning without the dancing girls was a surprise, out of control was definately the highlight...
Bono hasn't sounded this good ALL TOUR, and the setlist, all be it short, was definately VERY SWEET!...
As for anyone reading this, I was the guy up front with the "Larry Rocks and Rolls" / "Larry, Can I Have Your Stix Please" sign...Again, I can put blame on Much for this cause the head security guy (the guy that's always with Bono) came up to me right after One and told me to hold up the sign after the concert and Larry will give me his sticks...If you noticed, the band simply just got up and left, not really shaking hands with the crowd like they have been in the past...mostly to do with the fact that they had this publicity thing to do...I didn't get the sticks, that really doesn't matter, but the energy and the emotions (WOWY was quite amazing as there was no dancing, just lying...plus the fact Bono admitted he almost made another baby with the girl) were unforgettable.
So, booo to Much and The Star, however, this concert was amazing and I think they are going to be changing up the setlist from here on end...we'll see, but after Out Of Control, the band were all smiles, and compared to the first night (where Bono's voice was off and cracked during One), I think they knew they had an incredible night, definately the best one on tour so far....enjoy the shows!...you'll be blown away!
Chris
PS. And Bono, yes we did just get out of jail (little inside for those of us up front)
