U2 shocks the Barcelona audience with an impressive performance in the Camp Nou stadium. This is the 1st Spanish stop of the Vertigo Tour and it happens exactly 4 years after their last gig in Barcelona for the Elevation Tour (it is, again, Edge's birthday).
The supporting acts, Kaiser Cheifs and Keane, offer a great set and get the sold-out Camp Nou ready for U2. The GA crowd receives U2 with red balloons and Vertigo makes the audience erupt. All songs, new and old, are well received and Bono looks ecstatic as he wanders around the B stages. Edge says he has spent around 5 birthdays in Barcelona. The show ends with the encore version of Vertigo and the crowd keeps singing long after the band has left the stage, singing in the stadium alleys and into the summer night.
