Incredible- breath-taking...and worth the wait. Some fans waited over 18 months for the show, after the original date was cancelled in June 2010 due to Bono's back injury. Bono commented "Thanks for your patience" near the beginning of the show, prompting a loud cheer from the 65,000+ in attendance. Particularly meaningful was the Amnesty International tribute song in honour of those illegally imprisioned in Burma. ONE and AI volunteers held lit lantern bags around the stage creating a meaningful and poignant moment.
Great showman, Bono was able to make the huge venue seem intimate and the sound, musicianship and setlist were perfect - not a single song that felt thwy missed except Amazing Grace. Bono's addition of "Singing the Rain" during a light rainstorm was clever and fun.
