The one thing that the "Continental Airlines Arena" show had that the "Madison Square Garden" show didn't was the "Pre-show" parking lot festivities. It reminded me of the scene in "Red Dawn" when the kids parents are gathered together in the fenced-in parking lot (anyone remember that scene...
anyone...anyone)
People were drinking beer,smoking...um-cigarettes, cooking hot dogs, hamburgers, and God knows what else over mile high "porti-grill" flames....Frisbies and footballs were flying everywhere, and every ten feet you walked you heard a different "U2" song blasting from someones open car door, or trunk.
All-in-all it was the perfect opportunity to talk "U2" with just about anyone you bumped into...or hit you with a frisbie.
As for the show itself...well, what can I say that hasn't already been said. You all know about "Wild Honey" and "Bill Clinton". How about this one, though...during "Sunday Bloody Sunday" when Bono sings the line "Mothers, children, brothers ,sisters torn apart.."-he changed the line to "Edge is changing his guitar",because,uh,well yeah...Edge was changing his guitar.
Anyway, got to hear "Bad" again (woo-hoo), but still no "Stay" (dooh)...maybe in the fall.
