U2 played a fabulous show to end the first leg of the tour. I had been to two previous shows, Hartford and Boston, and they didn't compare to this show. The sound was much more crisp for this show. While you can tell Bono's voice is somewhat fatigued he still sounded a lot better than the two shows I previously saw when he was fighting a bug. Bono also seemed to be in great spirits throughout the night really enjoying himself. During Sunday Bloody Sunday, when The Edge had a guitar problem, he sand Edge is changing his guitar, laughing about it. That is something that would have infuriated him a long time ago. Here he just made it part of the show. I too thought he went a little heavy with his political speeches and banter. Much more than the shows I previously saw but I understand that is the type of person he is. Strong in his beliefs and he needs to talk about them Bad wast the true highlight of the night. Wild Honey coming a close second. It was incredible to hear them play that live and Bono forgetting a line in the song was no big deal. The concert did end in a mysterious way when after the second encore the house lights didn't come on for almost 5 minutes. This left the audience anticipating a third encore to end the leg with a bang but it never materialized. In all that minor detail could not spoil such a great show. I'm looking forward to a return visit in the fall. Anywhere in the northeast and I'm there again. Fred, Tommy, and Rebecca I know you enjoyed the concert as much as I did. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of the evening, it was a blast. Bono, Edge, Larry, and Adam see you guys in the fall. Footnote: This wound up being the second best show of the 5 shows I saw on this tour. Providence on Larry's birthday October 31st topped this show by a slim margin. I'm sure the band put on shows better than those two but of the 5 that I saw this show and Oct. 31 had the best sound, perfect set lists, and great energy from the band.
