This was my 3rd show on the Vertigo tour after London & Croke Park 1, and without doubt easily the best. It was a glorious day in Dublin and the atmosphere around the stadium was fantastic (even for a Monday!). U2 didn't take the stage until well after 9, but from the moment we heard the drum beat to Gloria we knew we were in for something special. Bad blew us away completely and we had a singsong with 80,000 people singing along to Dirty Old Town. All I can say is there were so many highlights to this show, I've seen so many U2 shows over the past 20 years but as another reviewer said, this was up there with Slane 1. Band and crowd last night were in top form, and what a treat to finish with 40, just as they did in Croke Park 18 years ago to the day since my first U2 concert in the same venue!
