SOUL! I am full of it right now after seeing the final show in Providence. U2 was again unbelievable. I'm not one to compare shows, but the pick of the shows in Providence was definitely last night. As usual Elevation kicked off the show, and U2 rocked the house. It was Larry Mullen's birthday and Bono mentioned this at the beginning, but waited until after Stuck in A Moment to have the crowd sing "Happy Birthday" - it was amazing. Bono then summened Larry to the microphone where Larry said it took 40 years to be allowed to get up the the microphone to speak. LOL. Bono then jumped into the drummers seat (a kodak moment if there ever was one). I always think of Larry as being so shy so as he concluded his thank yous to the crowd with Bono playfully tapping the drum sticks Larry said it didn't matter anyways because Bono couldn't play the drums LOL. Bono requested a bottle of champagne and it was delivered to the him and he shook it like a mad mand and proceeded to open it up and spray the fans in front of him. He then brought the bottle back to Larry who took a couple swigs. The next think I know Bono break out with Party Girl. I thought I would fly through the Civic Center roof. I love this song and they haven't played it in a long time, what a huge treat for those new U2 fans. Bono then went on to sing Slow Dancing and blew me away. The setlist is pretty standard, but when U2 launched into Wildhoney I was esthatic. This show was unbelievable. At the end of the concert Bono and the guys stood and waved and Bono started another Happy Birthday tribute - the crowd was wild. There was another great moment when Bono lead three younger ladies onto the stage all wearing red and white shirts with a flag. They were picked out of the back of the crowd and he said he wanted them to be up front and they danced and went crazy and after the song were lead off the tip of the heart. That lucky ladies! This band is the greatest. This is the last of five Elevation show I will be attending. I want more....
