I've been lucky enough to see gigs in Cardiff and Lisbon on this tour and both shows were superb. As a longtime fan I must admit I would prefer a bit more variety in the set lists, but once the show gets going you don't care - you just get lost in the moment.
In the end there were so many highlights - the middle section of COBL, Miracle Drug and SYCMIOYO was outstanding, and lets hope these songs last beyond this tour as they deserve to, and don't go the same way as Kite, Walk On and Stuck in a Moment have since the Elevation tour.
But,I guess the best moments for me had to be Miss Sarejevo and 40, two songs that I'd never seen live before. Bono actually got an ovation halfway through the 'Pavarotti' section of Sarejevo!!
There wasn't a single bad moment during the show - the unbelievable Portugese crowd picked up the momentum from the first chords of Vertigo and it didn't drop until minutes after Larry had left the stage following an extended 40 ending.
Brilliant. I think I need to get me tickets for New York.
