The concert was excellent. As a one-stop-per-tour concertgoer, I was disappointed that "No Line" and "Unknown Caller" had been dropped from the set. Nevertheless, there was nothing to complain about concerning what was there. Between this tour, Elevation 2001, and Popmart 1997, I felt that this show was the best of the three by far.
Nearly all concertgoers in our section 105 area never sat down once the show started, and a considerable number were very much into the show. Considering that we were near the back left of the main stage (darn the fact that Ticketmaster was only offering sections 105 and 109 during the first two hours of day one of the fan club presale -- my many attempts to get another section proved fruitless, and I finally gave in to 105), my wife and I were astonished that we never felt out of the action. 360 really succeeds in making a stadium show intimate, something I thought Popmart failed to do. And while some reviewers find the concert uneven and unfocused, I didn't think so. For me, the highlights were "Your Blue Room" and "Ultraviolet."
But I do have to ask -- what is it with Washington, DC, that makes us different from other concet stops? For Popmart, the "telly" had been damaged by what Bono called a "monsoon" in the DC area a previous day. We got one or two fewer songs than most previous other stops at the first Elevation concert. This time, we got both one less song and a (thankfully only briefly) damaged video!
