This show was my first taste of U2 live. I had been a fan, though, since 1981 - so this was a special night. I was only 15 so I had to hitch a ride with a friend... but man, was it worth it! We had floor seats and I remember being shocked by this mystery band that wasn't on the ticket. lol - some country band... I later learned this was a prank from the band as they took to the stage as a country band. classic... I guessed the first song correctly: "Where the Streets Have No Name" - and from that moment on, it was magic. I can still hear the chants of the crowd as we sang "How long.... to sing this song" as the band members slowly left the stage until it was only Larry and us. Brilliant. What a show!
