4th show. saw the opener in miami and both toronto gigs before buffalo.
bono wanted to bring it tonight and he did.
The Show (extracurricular):
-a guy was crowd surfing at the front of the heart and while he was be kicked out by security bono stopped them and pulled him on stage,he then proceeded to stage dive back into the crowd. bono's response? "you are too fat to be doing that"
- girl pulled on stage during with or WOWY and bono and her participate in tops & bottoms. "i'm on top, now you're on top"
- best sign of the tour "bring back the mullet!" in homage to one of bono's previous hairdos
- right in the heart of paradox. the charlton heston video montage continues to divide. people cheer when they first hear his mantra, then are stunned when the image of the girl finding the gun is played.
The show (music)
- EBTTRL is missing from the posted set list.
- full band rendition of desire at the tip was a treat.
- love when they play gone because you can tell (this was also true during popmart)that they just love to play it.
- watching bono get into the character during the fly is compelling. i think i would like to party with the fly, he is a slippery, bad ass dude. love the pose against the screen at the end.
- kite is by all accounts a classic, and hearing it live is to hear U2 at the height of their magic and spirit.
- edge's guitar work was scorching, but i fear if bono keeps letting him sing, bono vox could be out of a job.
- kudos to the crew, lighting, production etc... you guys are on a roll & tight. keep dreaming out loud. (p.s. thanks willie for the diaries)
what else can i say? U2 are churning out special moments in time. the spirit is being kind. join them, it's downright good for the soul.
gotta go i'm running out of change.
see you in the heart in NYC.
