U2 Tours (formerly part of AtU2): A Comprehensive Guide To U2’s Live Performance History

by Danny Robinson

After seeing two U2 shows before in my life(POP and ZOO TV) I was elevated at this unparrallel performance by U2.

The opening numbers were very well done, with Bono's voice in top form, overshadowing the technical problems they had throughout the show. The highlights are obviously the U2 classics; the Fly, Mysterious Ways, Where the Streets have no name, and Bloody Sunday (the only song to give me the chills, as it was the first time I had seen it live!!!)

The Edge was all over his riffs, Clayton was in top form, as was Larry who turned just one drum into a strong force invading everyone's bloodstream during Desire. The other great aspect of Desire is that U2 has the best approach to the B-stage that I've ever seen.

To conclude, on the way out, I heard a lott of lines such as, "That was good, but not like the Stones" or "That wasn't as good as the Beatles" By even comparing U2 to these two bands shows how effectively they played this show. People seemed obligated to defend their favorite bands, regardless of what they are, from this show. U2 and their melodies have provided entertainment to my family and I for as long as I've been alive.

The crowd was into it all night, but it I was surprised by the extra participation and passion that was evoked from Bono during Bad, I Will Follow, and Pride.

U2, I'll see you in DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
