Driving home from Lincoln Financial Field, someone on the radio (WMMR) said that this was the greatest concert ever held in Philadelphia. It was a huge statement. Now that this show has sunk in, he could very well possibly be right.
This show. Start to finish was simply amazing. Magnificent is back. Even Better than the Real Thing was a terrific opener. I saw the 360 show 2x in 2009 in NY. This show had twice the energy. Bono and Edge are truly having fun up there.
The highlight? Zooropa!! I've seen U2 12 times. There are plenty of moments that I'll never forget (Bono's walk on intro into Zoo Station during the indoor Zoo TV show, Bruce Springsteen walking on stage during the Vertigo Tour). Last night's performance of Zooropa (one of my favorite songs ever) ranks up there as one of those moments. It showcases the stage like no other song in the set and song itself is flat out amazing live. The crowd seemed to enjoy it too. Speaking of the crowd, Philly U2 crowds are normally loud and having a great time. Last night was no exception.
All in all just another amazing night with U2. Well worth the 2 year wait. Would have been worth a 10 year wait actually.
