Lasy night's show was my 2nd in three days, like Steve from VA, and third Vertigo show overall (saw them in Philly in May). Excellent sound and visuals, as usual, imho.
The person I took to this show had not seen U2 since seeing them at the infamous Red Rocks in CO over 20 years ago when they filmed that show for video, so I was a little worried as to how an 'old time' fan would react to the newer material as well as a more polished, professional show. I needn't have worried, the 'boys' came through with flying colors. Even before City of Blinging Lights ended, she was banging on my arm and shoulder in utter happiness and amazement at what she was witnessing (though I'm sure the close to stage seats I had in section 121 played a part in that excitement).
I think I experienced the same as a few other reviewers did though; as in DC is a town of connections and several people in my section sat down for parts of the show & obviously didn't know all the songs performed. It's a shame true, diehard U2 fans couldn't have taken a few of these seats off those people's hands. They certainly would have been put to better use.
Another great show & I can't wait to see them again tomorrow.
