Twenty years after first going to see them I approached Birmingham NEC with some trepidation. I'd missed the Pop Mart tour (the first tour missed in that time) and hadn't seen them since Wembley on the Zoo TV tour, not an altogether enjoyable experience for a variety of reasons. There was no need to worry, from the moment (at 9.04) they walked on to the stage to the moment they walked off at 11.04 they blew the place away.
It was great to get indoors again and it felt like they were going through the roof. The set was magnificent with the monochromatic screens adding to the intensity rather than diverting attention.
Personal highlights were Out of Control (always has been a big favourite), the emotion of Kite, the intensity of Sunday Bloody Sunday and the energy of Elevation and Streets.
As someone else once said the boys are back in town and don't they let you know.
