Moving... very moving. To hear "I Will Follow", "New Year's Day", and "Sunday, Bloody Sunday"!!! WOW! I remember being 14 years old at my first U2 concert at McNichols wearing a U2 t-shirt with none other than Bono on the front. This concert was reminicent of Red Rocks in that they seemed to go back to their "roots".
Wild horses couldn't have dragged me from my seat. (Except to go to the heart!!) I was in the nosebleed section and I was captivated by Bono's performance. I loved his foot dragging action across the stage and heart and the lifting up of his leg as he was singing. His antics of running in the crowd hasn't changed. He still is for the people, truly a people person. Bono acknowledged the band and the ever reluctant Larry Mullen, Jr., who Bono gave credit to as the beginnings of U2 as The Larry Mullen Band. Thank you Larry for posting the ad in your high school at 14!!!!!
I was thrilled that they were not with all the pomp and circumstance we saw at Mile High. They seemed to be proud of their songs that have made them famous today. The songs that have made U2 who they are. Couldn't believe they played the Sweetest Thing!!!! What a fortunate woman Bono's wife is to have had that song written for her. They selection of songs is heart stopping. The Edge's strumming of his guitar! Wow! It will give you chills. Adam Clayton played wonderfully, and not to mention he looked great.
I was also moved he gave mention to Michael Hutchence of INXS and dedicated "Stuck in a Moment" to him. Is there no end to U2's coolness? How cool was that?!
The crowd was "rocking" to all the old U2 and the amazing thing is that U2 continues to give to the next generation. I on the other hand couldn't breathe. Perfection!!!! Pure Perfection from all members of U2. I cried literally. Bono thanked the crowd during his last song over and over. He also thanked Barry Fey earlier in the show. It was awesome-actually no words can describe it for me. I spent so much money after because of this "emotion". Sorry to my husband, but it was so worth it-every penny.
I am making plans to see it in another city. I have to see this again. It truly was that good!
