This was my 4th show of the tour, and while it may not rank as the best, it was a very nice way to end the long ride of Vertigo 2005. We were seated directly behind the stage, about 3 rows up, and it was a spectacular view – especially for the final show, as you can see by our photos.
Kanye put on a very energetic performance to open. I saw him 9 days earlier in Everett, WA, and I thought he sounded even better at this show. Great choice for an opener!
Overall the sound was great from our seats. The band seemed very loose and Bono’s voice is in top form even after 9 months of touring. My only complaint would be that I wish they had played some of the other songs I missed from other shows on the tour (Stuck in a moment – which I believe was on the original setlist… Fast Cars… Discotheque… Crumbs… Who’s Gonna Ride…). Although I hate it when people complain in reviews about setlist choices, I just wish they had mixed it up a bit more from previous nights. No big deal, though, it’s just my personal preference.
Thanks, guys, for a wonderful ride! It’s been great, and we hope to see you again before too long!
