U2 Tours (formerly part of AtU2): A Comprehensive Guide To U2’s Live Performance History

After being fortunate enough to see Zoo TV at Leeds in 1993 I really didn't think that Popmart could reach the same dizzy heights as its predecessor. After all the crap that was written by the British press regarding poor ticket sales etc., I have to admit that my fears were added to. Had U2 took their stadium rock ideal and fused it with dance music in a hopeless mix?

No chance!

The show was absolutely outstanding, from the support of Cast to Bono's impromptu version of the Beatles' 'Rain' this was a lyrical and musical rollercoaster that took your senses on a non-stop ride. The highlight for me was seeing Miss Sarajevo performed live as this was the one saving grace of the misguided Passengers concept. Perhaps next time they'll bring Pavarotti with them.

The one drawback was that those at the very front, like myself, were sometimes subject to distortions in sound quality (particularly during Mofo and Miami) and picture distortion.

I don't think that this quite matched Zoo TV at Leeds, which Bono described quite sycophantically as the best show of the last tour, but it came pretty damn close.
