THIS IS THE GREATEST ROCK SHOW ON EARTH!
If you do not have tickets, get some immediately! It's worth every penny. The energy at these shows is unbelievable!
I drove two and half hours from the Sierra foothills to San Jose, which is my old hometown, to see this show. I didn't get home until 1:45am, but I saw the greatest rock concert I have ever been to in my life. It was all worth it.
I had seen U2 only once before at Arco Arena in Sacramento almost 9 years ago to the date on the Zoo TV tour. I can tell you that this show was far superior. The stage, the lights, the set list, the performance, it was all awesome!
I had just seen AC/DC two days ago at Arco Arena and I can say the energy from that crowd and this one is like night and day. U2 is by far the greatest rock band on the planet. Bono has so much rock star charisma that it is unbelievable.
The lowest points of energy in the crowd(if that's what you can call it) came when they played "New York" and "The Ground Beneath Her Feet." I, personally, would have rather seen "All I Want Is You" and "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" played instead. For one, nobody likes the city of New York out here in California unless you're a transplant who moved here, so nobody really is going to care much about a song about "New York." And for two, the American version of "All That You Can't Leave Behind" doesn't have "The Ground Beneath Her Feet" on it, so nobody has heard this song. Most people haven't even heard of "The Million Dollar Hotel" movie, so no one has the soundtrack either. So why play songs that no one has heard or cares much about? Oh well, my griping is done, it was still the best show I have ever been too and an almost near perfect set list.
The highlights of this show were by far "Sunday, Bloody Sunday, Bad, and Where The Streets Have No Name." The performances and the crowd were simply amazing.
There was also one nice touch, Since they are in the San Francisco Bay Area, The Edge came out wearing the jersey of the greatest football player of all time, Joe Montana! Awesome!
