The worst memory of this gig was leaving it! 'There are four exits located at the back of the field...' This was terrible after about 37 repetitions! Apart from that i'm pretty much speechless!
At 12:30 Relish took to the stage. Quite impressive. Next up JJ72, who were quite frankly, awful. Kelis was funky and cool as well just as in Manchester.
At 5:30, Coldplay emerged and everyone stood up and got into them properly. Chris Martin introduced Trouble as 'Not their rebel song!'
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers were very impressive. A great version of Higher Ground and spine tingling versions of Californication and Under The Bridge got you just in the mood for the main attraction.
The Boys Are Back In Town was played prior to U2. The atmosphere had just reached 110%!
Then Beatles and Elevation. It was still daylight at around 8:30 when U2 took to the stage so the intended drop of houselights didn;t work! Cest La Vie!!!
I think that everything has already been said about this gig! The best experiences of this gig were communal bouncing to Streets..., a great version of A Sort Of Homecoming, a moving 'Kite' and Unforgettable Fire being played over the PA for the fireworks.
There isn't a lot more you can say about U2 other than they are rocks premier attraction and it's gonna be a long time before thaey are removed from the perch of rocks greatest, most awe inspiring band.
