What a show! People have been saying some bad things about the tour thus far, but this was unbelievable. Bono had such a high level of energy. It really seemed like he was connecting with the crowd and the crowd with him. The Edge was unbelievable. The man can play guitar. He was awesome during "Until the End of the World." Adam's guitar shook the stadium. Larry was his usual calm and collective as he to rocked the house.
The show was not without glitches. It seemed like they screwed up "Miami" and had to sing the first verse over. Other than that this show was smooth and loud. The older stuff was great. The crowd sang loud enough to drown out Bono. However, I must say the newer stuff was just as good. I have been a U2 fan for a long time. I love their old material, but they are really doing some great stuff now. I think it's a shame that people can't see the blood that is put into every song on POP. People need to stop living in the past with this band and wake up to great music they still put out today. The new songs really rocked during the show. "Please" was an especially great performance. Bono was very emotional, you could feel the energy. At the end of the song, Edge started to play "Sunday Bloody Sunday" only to fade back into "Please". That was pretty cruel. Of course no U2 concert would be complete without "With or Without You." In my opinion this was the highlight of the show. Don't listen to a word people have said about this show. It rocks and it was worth every penny I paid for the ticket.
