This, too, was a night I won't forget. I was 15 and my older brother had borrowed the family wagon to bring a few of us to the concert... my first. There's not a bad seat at teh Sundome, and it lended to a very intimate atmosphere.
The most memorable part of the night, for me, was after the show. A group of about 50-75 of us had stayed around long after the concert ended, waiting out back by the load-in dock. Bono came out, and rather than leave right away, he climbed up and sat on the back of their limo and just talked with everyone for a while... quietly signing autographs. It was great -- and you could see that he truly was the people-person he's known to be.
As he jumped in his limo and headed to their hotel in Downtown Tampa, my older brother had been pulled up and waiting, so we ran and jumped in -- then followed alongside the limo on the interstate. As we beeped and waved -- the window came down a bit and hands waved back at us.
We let the limo take it's exit, and we headed on home over the Causeway to Clearwater... all with those incredible memories in our minds of a truly great night.
