I was at the Tacoma show on the 12th, on the floor about 30 ft. from the Edge's side of the stage. For those of you worried about visibility, I'll tell you I'm 5'8" and could see pretty good when they came out to the edge of the heart. I had a good view of Edge throughout, even when he was in back. I won't give you a blow by blow since that's been done, although I will say I'm ecstatic that they dropped Discoteque and Staring at the Sun and played Real Thing and Desire instead. Surprisingly enough, I liked the new songs the best. Stuck in a Moment plays really well and Walk On is an incredible song. I have never seen a full out version of Sunday Bloody Sunday and this transported me right back to the early 80's. And yes, they played Pride!
Anyway, more importantly, I would like to add a few things about this band. Bono didn't mention anything in Tacoma about applying for the best band in the world, although in my opinion they've been just that since the release of Joshua Tree. What makes this band great is 1) you can understand every word of every song, 2) every song has relevance, 3) the songs are sincere. No hidden meanings, no misguided angst, just human emotion to get you through the day (Stuck in a Moment). Some songs are profound, just listen to Walk On and you'll see. The band is also as tight as I've ever heard them. Take a good look at Larry on drums and check out how hard he works! If you're going to a show in the future, don't worry about seating arrangements, just prepare to be blown away by the best band in the world! -Sandman
