10-28 show in Houston was spectacular. Ticket time was 7:30, U2 went on shortly before 9 PM. Show lasted approximately 2 and a half hours.

I'm not a mega-fan. I only have 2 CDs, but I love their live shows. I saw U2 on the Zoo something-or-other tour in the early 90s, at the Astrodome. Even sitting in the rafters, on top of 60,000 other fans, it was electric. In the 20,000 seat Toyota Center, it seemed like to roof was going to blow off. The energy was terrific, and the band rewared the crowd with lots of sing alongs, and a show that felt both fresh and polished.

Celebrity sightings include One Campaign sponsor Dikembe Mutombo, of the Houston Rockets, along with teammate Juwan Howard and Houston Astro and future Baseball Hall of Famer, Craig Biggio.

The show effects were terrific - what I will call the light-bead curtains were a stunning technology - real jaw droppers - and utilized beautifully.

We sat behind the stage, so we weren't able to fully appreciate the ideal view, but the guys paid us plenty of attention, and we were able to see them coming into the back stage entrace. We also saw that Bono utilizes something along the lines of a TelePrompTer to ensure that he keeps the lyrics straight. Certainly preferable to the confused "mumble mumble mumble" that lesser artists utilize to get them out of tight spots on stage.

If you're reading this, you probably already agree that no one is making music, and performing it as well as these guys, right now. If you haven't seen them, do it. Pay the scalpers what they want - it's a bargain.
