First of U2 is always great live. I have had the opportunity to see them at least twice every tour since the Joshua Tree and I have never been disappointed. Unfortunately this show was a little flat. It was not the bands fault, however. The sound system left a lot to be desired. For the first half of the show, Adam's bass playing was hardly heard; on other songs the Edge's guitar was lower than the other instruments. Eventually the sound people got it right and U2 like always rocks the place. Another big problem for me were the fans. Never in my life have I seen such a terrible audience. People behind us complained about us standing up. Most of the people around us left to buy beer and merchandise when Gloria, Miss Sarajevo, Love Peace or Else,
and Original of the species were played. I know that no one is forced to stay and listen to a song, but it shows that there aren't too many real fans here. Hardly anyone knew what Gloria was, most of them sat when it was played!!!!! And the audience barely reacted to Bono singing Pavarotti’s part of Miss Sarajevo. I have seen U2 this year in Boston and in Philly. Now those were shows and part of a great show is a great audience; unfortunately this wasn't a great audience. I drove 3 hours with my sisters and brother in law to take a chance and buy tickets from a scalper, we found some right away and we paid $ 80.00 each for $95 tickets, these guys had no business, which was good for us.
