This was my second time seeing U2 live and also the second time with my three daughters. We saw the "Elevation" tour in 2001 at the old Charlotte Coliseum.
This show was as good if not better than the "Elevation" show. The boys play as tight as ever and the light show is just mesmerizing.
But it's the songs and the meaning behind them and the passion they put into playing them that gets me every time. Every single song has deep, rich meaning and tugs at one more emotional thread that you didn't realize hadn't been tugged at yet.
To me, they can do no wrong. I happen to agree with just about every political and humanitarian stance they take so that part of the show never bothers me. But even if they took positions I didn't agree with and preached to me as if I was in church, I'd still love the songs and the way they're played and the feelings they stir inside me.
I've loved this band for 25 years and I hope they last forever. If there's a better band out there, I don't know who it could be.
