Great show! Started with the Zoo Station intro into Even Better than the Real Thing. Next was I Will Follow. The Edge's guitar during this blew my mind! He was so on point with those searing repetitive solos in that very early U2 tune. Get on Your Boots rocked. Magnificent started with band not in synch but they pulled it together. Mysterious Ways was amazing also, a very real spiritual experience for me as I jumped up and down and cried a little bit. Elevation was appropriate (we were at Mile High Stadium) and rocked strong as the crowd was getting into it fully. Until the End of the World was awesome too, and I was so stoked to see so many Achtung songs, my first show was Zoo TV in 1992.
Three tunes from Zooropa! Stay (Faraway So Close) was absolutely beautiful acoustic with only The Edge and Bono. Zooropa was slower than the album version and very surreal. Also Discoteque closed out the very dance/tribal remix of Crazy Tonight. Miss Sarejevo was absolutely beautiful with Bono belting out Pavarotti's part exquisitely. One of the shows high points for this fan. A long talk about rejoicing for the freedom of Ahn Suu Kyi before walk on, also with members of Amnesty International circling the stage similar to 360 2009. Suu Kyi's speech during the encore break sounded grateful and inspiring.
One was beautiful to start the encore. Hold me Thrill me Kiss me Kill me, I was really looking to it and I think this one still needs work and/or doesn't translate well live. Just my opinion and I sincerely hope others enjoyed it. With or Without You was amazing and Bono's voice was strong. Moment of Surrender ended the show like the 2009 tour, another spiritual experience for me.
We had the best time. We traveled from San Diego to celebrate our eleventh anniversary. Next show for us is Anaheim with Lenny Kravitz!!!!
PS the Fray were good, I don't know them well but apparently they are from Colorado. Their song that the guitar player sang was awesome.
