Well. My second concert ever (after Mark Knoppfler in July) and my first U2 concert ever! it was also my first of two (see Glasgow 27th review for my second).
Me and 3 others, had a great position, right at the barrier on Adam's side, but we should have been in the heart, the MEN Arena is an awful arena to host a concert, the staff and the way they treated the GA people quieing up for hours was terrible.
but the pain didnt stop till after the downright awful and head-ache inducing Kelis. R&B or Hip Hop, whatever she played was awful. BOOOOO! GET OFF THE STAGE! YOU SUCK!
The drummer for Kelis was funny though, tried to show off by throwing his sticks into the air and catch them, but failed about 3 of 5 times, we all laughed.
sore legs and headaches disappeared after the cure of the best medice around, U2 walking onto the stage infront of you. I have spent a good few years watching them on tv in concerts and interviews. but they were here to do their job and it was awesome, so surreal.
Elevation - best opener ever? maybe, anyone NOT like this song? doubtful.
Beautiful Day - flawless and loud.
Until the End Of The World - fantastic! Bono/Edge bull fight is wild! sooo great to watch, what entertainment, Gallagher brothers take note.
Discotheque/Staring At The Sun - Excellent combo, nice chnage for these pair.
Kite - shame about Bono's dad and a great song, superbly performed to memoralise him by.
New York - I favourite on the night, mainly because most of it, 6 feet in front of me, infront of a big screen curtian, he is a wee guy, but he is huge. ON STAGE HE IS A GOD, BUT REALLY HE IS JUST A MAN LIKE THE REST OF US!! lol WOW
I Will Follow - cant go wrong with this, all the oldies love it, U2 love, i love it, its fast and loud.
Sunday Bloody Sunday - I knew this was next, but it was a long 5 seconds before Larry played it, and it was an unbelievable event this song.
In My Life/Stuck In A Moment - lovely duo, nice sing along. Excellent as accoustic in the future maybe.
In A Little While - again, very nice, great vocals.
Desire/Gloria - great song, but it is at its best when they do Gloria at the end.
Stay - a great song, a favourite of everyones really and nicely plays into...
Bad/40 - Superb, great song and an awesome ending.HOW LONG!
Streets - is there any doubt that this is possibly the best live song of all time?
Always thought this could be an even better song to begin an encore with..like Bullet in this case
Bullet The Blue Sky - LOUD! RAW!
With Or Without You - couldnt hear it for the screams of girls! lol, still fantastic!
One/Wake Up Dead Man - emotional as always
Walk On - My favourite song of all time, and i cant think of a better way to end a concert.
THANKS U2. SEE YOU IN GLASGOW.
